FAQ

100% OF ALL DONATIONS RECEIVED RESCUE HOMELESS PETS NATIONWIDE
Do you have dogs and cats available for adoption?

No. Second Acts is a fundraising organization. We do not operate a shelter nor a foster network. If you are looking for a new family member, please let us know and we will recommend some rescue groups in your area.

Where do the donations go?

100% of all donations received are sent to rescue groups nationwide.  Our focus is on small organizations that are run by volunteers and which don’t receive the same amount of attention and publicity as the bigger groups. All groups receiving funds are registered as 501(c)(3) non-profit public charities and must maintain a no-kill policy.

How do rescue groups use the donations?

Rescue organizations adopt animals from abusive or neglectful homes as well as from public shelters that destroy unwanted pets. These animals are often rescued in their final hours before being euthanized. Once a pet has been rescued, the organization faces the financial burden of feeding and providing veterinary care and promoting pet adoption until a suitable home is found.

Your organization distributes 100% of all donations received to the rescues. Where do you derive the funds necessary to sustain the organization (e.g. website, travel, supplies)?

The Founder and CEO of Second Acts (Michael Brown) personally assumes the costs of all expenditures to run the organization. As stated, every penny received goes to helping the animals.

If I become a donor, will my information be given to the rescue organizations?

No. All donations will be disbursed by Second Acts. Your information will not be disclosed to anyone, nor will it be sold to any mailing lists.
